I covered my face with a mask, slipped on gloves, put hand sanitizer in my pocket, and mounted my motorbike to ride through the empty streets of New York to take pictures during the pandemic. In the midst of very confusing and scary times, I found the possibility to combine my two passions: my bike and my camera!
Motorcycles provide the possibility to go everywhere, park anywhere, and stop anytime when your eyes spot the perfect image, the perfect situation, and the perfect light.
Stay Home! was the recommendation, but knowing that New York was breathing without tourists, and the crowded streets were empty for the first time in modern history, was too strong of a feeling to stay put. With the camera around my neck, taking all possible precautions, I rode my motorbike, hoping to encounter everything but COVID-19.
